PEARS

  • PEARS Sample Schedule

  • PEARS is a one-day AHA class that is designed to enhance a healthcare provider's
basic pediatric life support knowledge. The class was developed for those that may not
routinely provide care for high acuity pediatric patients with illness and injury. This
class could be beneficial for medical/surgical nurses, EMT basics, and other healthcare
providers that may care for pediatric patients outside of a critical care area. Students
learn to initiate and manage the first few minutes of a pediatric arrest, or prevent an
arrest of a severely compromised child. It is an instructor-led class based on videos of
real patients and concentrating on establishing enhanced skills in:

    Pediatric
    Emergency
    Assessment,
    Recognition, &
    Stabilization
